Letter Balloons

Letter Balloons is a hangman-style word game with a lighter touch. A hidden word is shown as blank tiles, and you guess it one letter at a time. Each wrong guess pops a balloon, and if you lose them all, your run is over. It plays in your browser on a phone or a PC, with no download.

Tap the letters on the on-screen keyboard, or type them on a physical keyboard on a PC. A correct letter fills in every matching tile. You are told the category of each word, such as animals, food, sports, space, music or nature, and the words are between 4 and 9 letters long. Solve a word and you move to the next round with a fresh bunch of balloons. You start with 7 balloons, and from round 7 you have 6.

The words get trickier as you go. If you are stuck, there is a reveal option that shows one letter, once per word, and using it lowers the points for that word. The game keeps track of your best score and your best run of solved words.

Tips: start with common letters like E, A, T and O, then use the category to narrow things down.
